Lest We Forget Poem by Paul Warren

Lest We Forget

Rating: 4.6

If we don't want to fight
Why do we make weapons so right
And we plot and scheme
About defeating an enemy as our dream

So we stagger from one war to the next one
With death and destruction never quite done
Each generation never learns of peace on earth
Just Lest we forget for what it's worth

And the lie is told again and again
It is good and proper to die for one's country.
