Left Unsaid Poem by Half Past

Left Unsaid

she carried the words upon her lips
as he turned and walked away...
she couldn't force them out nor let them slip
those three words she wanted to say...
everything came rushing to her mind like a bolt
how she cared and wanted him near...
but her lips and mouth she couldn't force or jolt
how he made her safe and eased her fear...
many adjectives and verbs on her mind
to describe his person and his ilk...
if her lips, her mouth, and voice she could find
she would describe his character of honey and milk...
she stood there crying in a muted tone
his footsteps were etched in the sand...
she watched him walk as she stood alone
tearing at her throat with heart broken hand...
just let me utter those three little words
maybe he'll stop and my way he'll turn...
if i can just part my lips and my voice is heard
thoughts of this her heart did yearn...
yet she stood there quietly as he strode on by
all those words left ly'ing in bed...
he was gone and her dreams did die
if she could have reached those words in head...
she left them unspoken
words left unsaid...
