Leaving You Behind Poem by Christina Phan

Leaving You Behind

It was hard than it sound
I thought I could just walk away and
Leaving you behind
But I couldn't
I just bottle everything about you and memories
I want to throw away in ocean, but I can't
I put my wall up one last time
Hoping you could come back and
Break it down like you always do
I am just tears on inside and holding it in
Accepting the truth that you are gone forever,
When you didn't respond to my message
It just pushes me over my limits
I just want to give up on everything
I just want to drop everything
I just want get in my car and drive away to get you back
Remainder of your name
Remind me of memories we have at work
Leaving you behind
Is what I have to do
Taking a different route and directions
To found new love and adventures is hard now
I can't look in someone else eyes or talk like I did with you
I don't have confidence, faith, or hope
It going be while before I am looking for boyfriend
It takes time, but
It feels like forever
I am learning to cut the string and let you fly away
Set you free and walk away from what we have
Bye to wonderful man you have become
Leaving you behind
Will lead to where I mean to be
In someone else's arms, heart, and life
