Leaves Poem by Portia Burton

Leaves

Leaves-torn,
Molested by the wind
Disowned by the parent trees,
Numbed by such violence
And injustice,
Helpless orphans,
Have fallen down
To seek shelter in the soil,
Instead get trampeled
Before turning to dust.

I wonder at this word-play here, whether it is about dead leaves or an indicative write about human situation where all this drama gets staged daily in some societies with some individuals! ! !
