Leah Sharibu Poem by EZEKIEL HARUNA DANBAKI

Leah Sharibu

Forgotten in the woods, and all alone
Among vicious beasts, to a fate unknown
Her crime is one
And Leah is her name
.
The government is silent, the heavens the same
On the fate of the girl, who's to blame?
Her crime is one
And Leah is her name
.
A child with a child and a broken dream
They plucked her star, they stole her beam
Her crime is one
And Leah is her name
Her crime is one: Leah is Nigerian.
