Lasting Blessings Poem by VICTORIA HEIM

Lasting Blessings

Lasting Blessings

The time of year and hear
with anticipation
The Katsinas are coming~the Kachinas are coming!
From their mountain home
the spirits arrive at Hopi Villages
Their appearance brings
Lasting Blessings
a time for examination
of the Conscience
They are Spiritual Guests
who sing these affirming lessons
Be decent~respectful, there are
Manners and patterns for each to follow their own life path
Our preparation is a Gift to the Spirit~Being
The delicate Way has protection
with these symbols representing transformation
The last song~the Kachinas receive a prayer feather~a Paho
make their departure until another Season
in the San Francisco Peaks
