Laments Of Life Poem by Philo Yan

Laments Of Life

Rating: 5.0

I ruined radiance of brand new things
I hold on to them too long
I ruin novelty
by giving it a second chance
I ruined beauty
by demanding that it doesn't fade
I ruined delicate fabrics
by crushing them with my intensity
I ruined relationships
by needing more and more
I ruined youth
by growing old too fast
I ruined my enthusiasm
with expectations and disappointments
I wrinkled up, get used up, be chewed up
but then,
it's better to ruin than to waste it
by being afraid.
