Lady Mayoress Poem by Sally Plumb Plumb

Lady Mayoress

Rating: 5.0

We heard about it
miles away.
She dyed her hair
crow black
and wore scarlet.
Thought she was
some kind
of Eva Peron.
Pulled her husbands strings
and made him
bad tempered.

Grandpa
wanted to fight him.
(With fists, I mean,
bare knuckles,
.... hit him on the chin.)
He upset grandpa,
and me.
I wasn't there....
but I still felt
fire in my belly.
