Know When To Be Quiet Poem by Ray Hansell

Know When To Be Quiet

I thought about
The words you said
I now realize
I lost my head

I should have thought
Before I spoke
Now I can see
I'm the butt of the joke

Too many times
In the past
I opened my mouth
Way too fast

I didn't choose
The right words
So my message
Was never heard

There's a place
There's a time
For everyone
To speak their mind

Choose your words
Most carefully
Never speak
Carelessly
