Knock Knock Poem by Timothy Long

Knock Knock

There suddenly can a tapping while my family was napping, I wondered who was at the door, my curiosity to explore, tis late in the night came a tapping at my door, my wife and kids will explore if I don't implore, as I come close I can hear the strangers breathing deeply as if bad news is coming through my news, if it's a man in blue I'll see the tears coming through, I open the door as my imagination says it's good and as death that can be despaired, it to my surprise is death itself standing reaching for my soul, no I screamed in agony filled trans fire this can't be true you friend I scream go away or you'll pay, death brought it's scheme down to take away my soul in one swipe, I dodged and prayed to God in my mind I felt a poke and death was released from my soul he's gone I'm sorry I imagined because the next knock will be ignored.
