"Keep Your Coins, I Want Change" -Unknown Poem by Scott J. Shepard

"Keep Your Coins, I Want Change" -Unknown

identity crisis;
the natural disaster that is poverty
and there's no education on you.

The wind is an abuse you stay close to
when a home is not a home

The unsanitary disability
that's lacked their mainstream
was a newspaper sold hopelessly to the city streets.

But its poetry they tell me,
till general rejection from the public
can't make sense of what's in the Streetwise.
What's been read again and again
in the San Francisco Times.

Its all internet cafes, shelters
and derelict structures.
Tent cities and shanty towns.
Life expectancy and the thunder on impact.

The wind doesn't stop
and the heat is too hot
"Home sweet homeless"
and "willing to work" but cannot.
