Justice Poem by Humna Hamid

Justice

Here I lie motionless, unperturbed
My lips still posed
From my last silent prayers
But breath no longer comes to me
And still I lie
And still I wait
For that last day
When justice will be in my hands
Then I will ask,
With the same detachedness
With which the action was committed
Why did I pay?
What did I do?
