Just Your Wife Poem by Frankie Renae

Just Your Wife

Just your wife
It wasn't supposed to go this way
Close my eyes
But this won't go away
I tried so hard to stand strong
You cut me in your pain
And tell me, till it feels wrong
To love you, care and persevere
But this like rain
I'm moving on
If I don't, I'll die for you from this
But all you'd need
Not a word, not an action or kiss
Not a thing you don't heed
In any way, let me know
If you do or not miss
And I will stop, wait, go
This is on you
You hold it all
Hate ripping it out from where
This belongs
But you are growing small
In your faith
And the things you are
Clouds over stars
In your green eyes
If you ever open them
Want this life
Or feel it an ounce again
One word, one sound, one touch, one note
I made promises
That I will never forego
Buried till you say it's okay
Waiting here beneath ground and days
Here, my heart pounds
I did say this was how it's to be
You think, don't think, and say
Not crazy, just for you
Things I keep learning are true
Almost said, but I did through life
Just your wife
