Just when...

Just when you think you know where you are going,
something happens that makes you reconsider
its all topsy turvy
and your world is spinning
its spinning out of its orbit
you feel your heart pulled out of your chest
ripped and shredded to pieces
in the numbing shock you recover
an inbuilt strength is found
it centers your thinking
and stops the spinning around
a step back to watch
a slow breath and analyse
you find your ability
and you learn more about yourself
the bleakness of midnight
is forgotten,
and peaceful sleep claimed your senses
a brand new day awakens
and a new confidence is here to stay
