Just as I thought
The going was smooth
And alI I had to do
Was cruise along...
I batted an eyelid and found myself
In the eye of a storm...

Here comes another challenge
A trial for my being
A colossal wave to rock the boat
And a threat of capsizing...
It's a test of my endurance
My resilience and patience too...

Life seems like an obstacle course
Myriad hurdles to be jumped...
The challenges never seem to cease
And I can't even pause to breathe
But I have vowed I'll overcome
All life will throw at me...

I shan't despair till the goal is near
Nor lay down to rest...
I won't get trampled upon
I'll constantly make my way
I keep my faith and feel no fear
Come whatever may...

At first I walk, and then I run
Picking myself as soon as I fall...
Fires may rage but I never burn
Nor smoulder like an ember
I'm certain that I'll survive all this
And one day be victorious...

I'll break the mould and emerge
I feel my spirits soar
I am no God, I'm merely human
But I'll resurrect for sure...
Much like a Phoenix,
I rise from the ashes
My confidence says it all...
My exuberance is boundless
There's no stopping me now...
I have always been
And forever shall be
An invincible soul...
