John 3: 16 Poem by Blessing Kalamatila

John 3: 16

Rating: 5.0

From whence we were young
we read and were told how He First loved us, right?
even made us alike much to his' delight but one mistake and all of sudden from His Garden,
we remain out of sight?

It could've ended there
-but because He loved us soo much
He then sends us His son; for us to accept and in return
long life is what we expect?

At this point,
I am not even sure of how to react but let's think about it,
just because He first loved us
are we suppose to simply surrender to such a selfless act?
No! and that is a fact but please understand these are questions need answers
-but often times We as Christians feel attacked.

You see Love is a choice
and we rejoice not only because we are goal driven
-but by accepting and knowing Grace is not earned but given
even when it hurts our pride deep down leaving it with a permanent scar,
we continue to ride under it despite knowing how futile our own efforts are.

Listen! Salvation remains ours to seek,
never should it always be about feeding homeless children in the streets,
reciting prayers daily like Nicodemus did or coming to church every Sunday only to save face and remain faithless during the rest of the week.

On that cross, He showed what unfathomable Love looks like.
So, if you happen to be one of those destined to burn
Then you might want to reconsider how you living your Life
because He died for you too and for nothing but your Faith in return.

Salvation remains ours to seek
-but you can choose either to believe in Faith and cross over from the dark to light and live right,
or rebel and die;
like the Israelites from the venomous snake bites.

See! We may have riches but lets
understand that His Love for us wasn't cheap,
leaving behind the throne of Grace to land on earth in an effort to redirect us,
the lost sheep.

Salvation remains ours to seek
-but to those who continue to think of this as lame
let's wait on the day
when the graves at the sound of the trumpet open up and pave the way
for those that sleep as believers to be joined back with Christ who then will reign forever
while you everlastingly weep.
