Jj By Ee (Intro To 12) Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

Jj By Ee (Intro To 12)

At first sight indifference met my eyes
By second a cloudy smile was clear in mine
On third sight I felt hope, that it was time
But by forth it was crushed,
hopelessly, lustfully, piteously
In swirling torrents of chemical hate
You stood resolute, uncaring to my fate.
On fifth sight anger reigned
Sixth- blankness regained
Its hold on your precious face
So free with a dark, fair grace
Turning to seventh sight: pain,
Eighth was amusement at my game
By ninth you were intrigued, looking too
And tenth- I could see my hold over you
Eleventh time: lust
Burned brighter than all fire
Though it grew to much more than a mutual desire
When I caught your eye for the twelfth time that day
My look was a look of love
And in yours I read the same.
