Jesana Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Jesana

Love humbled out of a depth
From the Sinai to the stars
Somewhere Gabriel had wept
Sacred tears from time of wars

Two daughters under a tree
Clutching tempting pommegrantes
Sweet offerings to be free
Dies Irae the lone monk chants

Empires crumble to dust
Donkeys bray their songs at night
Wheels in motion never rust
Since Jesana took to flight.
