Japan's Tsunami 'The Sun Still Shines' Poem by Katherine Perry

Japan's Tsunami 'The Sun Still Shines'

Rating: 4.7

Are tragedies what it takes to realize how important we are to God
Now being forced to come together and make a stand
And now we must look upward, beyond all the fog
And have faith in God to take care of Japan

We look now at the fields flooding Japan's foundation
We watch and wish we could do more
Seeing their faces and showing their devistation
While the ocean creates it's new shore

Take a good look at the people about you
Their faces so furrowed with care
Then lined and hardened by sorrow
In a world that has placed them there

In the conditions that they now live in
Hope is fadeing and the joy's are few
So love them, pray for them and think of them
Lest they all should perish too

In Japan, they watch as their homes and loved ones slowly fade from sight
Now their future seems to be blank without a view
Most do not understand why, but still they have tried
To come together and decide what to do

Now all these souls on their feet they stand
They now strengthen their eagerness to talk to God
And with sincere faith they put out their hands
Now praying for those who have since passed on

It won't be long before the sun slowely slips out of sight
Then lengthening shadows deepen into dusk
And all is quiet sitting still in the night
While waiting for God's miricles to then touch

Though the wind, the water, and the quake is at end
We will always remember it came
And to not take any heart for granted within
For our God who forgives, we are all blessed the same!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Although i was so very far away, I watched on TV as it happened and wished i was there to help. Words cannot describe how much it broke my heart to see that happen.
