Jaded Poem by Paula Puddephatt

Jaded

She's jaded and nobody understands.

They're afraid to humour or indulge her.

She ought to take it into her own hands.

With each birthday, she is one year older,

With nothing more to show for it and so

She gets depressed - considers suicide.

Nobody could care less or wants to know

About her feelings. She just "hasn't tried".

They bully her. That's the last thing she needs.

They all know better though, or think they do.

Can they distinguish wild flowers from weeds?

She won't push in. She's standing in the queue,

Just as instructed. She'll be there all night.

Their verdict: Stuff her. She should be all right.
