Its Too Late Poem by Fergal Dunne

Its Too Late

You burned the flag
Before it flew,
You were in love
But you never knew.
You ate the cake
Before its time,
You didn’t wait
I was in line.
You killed the passion
Before the spark,
The fire went out
Now its dark.
You shut the door
Before you stepped out,
You hid your feelings
Still full of doubt.
You closed the curtain
Before final call,
Loaded the gun
But I took the fall.
You locked the cage
This bird had flown,
And you wonder why
You are alone?
