Ithaka Bound Poem by Ima Ryma

Ithaka Bound

Ithaka, Odysseus' home,
He sought to return after war.
A ten year journey he did roam.
Would home welcome him anymore?
His odyssey was hard and long.
A one eyed Cyclops he did blind.
Then god Helios he did wrong.
He did seduce witch Circe's mind.
He lost both his ship and his crew.
For years a prisoner on an isle,
Phaeacians came to his rescue.
Homecoming hopes seemed to beguile.

Odysseus in odyssey,
Would his home Ithaka still be?
