It Would Be You Poem by Colin Bobb

It Would Be You

If I only had a day, a meager 24 hours,
I'd spend it with you till the end,
If I only had a hour, a meager 60 minutes,
I'd be with you till the end,
If I only could ask one last question,
It'd be 'Would you live for me? ',
If I was only permitted one last word,
It'd be your beautiful name,
If I only could utter seven syllables,
They'd be 'I'll love you for all time',
If I could only make a few motions,
They'd be to hug you one last time,
If I only could take one last look,
It'd be of your beautiful face,
If I only could create one last sound,
It'd be to let you know that I'm in God's grace,
If I only could exhale one last breath,
It wouldn't be a sad one because we'll be together again, me and you,
If I only had one person to stand by me in the end,
It would be you.
