It's Raining In My Heart Poem by Amy Stuart

It's Raining In My Heart

Drip Drop.
Splish Splash.
I wonder, can anyone else hear it too?
The rain falling down in my heart.

I see you now.
You smile at me, and the rain stops momentarily,
I wonder if that means something,
that gorgeous smile of yours.

You look around,
you see it's just you and me,
and slowly walk away.
the rain starts again.

Sometimes you pass me,
you don't notice I'm there,
I'm just a girl in a crowd,
no one especially loud.

I'm drowning from the rain,
my heart is crying in pain,
I'm in agony,
won't you save me?

Yet you don't notice,
you never have,
your heart has been stolen by somebody else,
a pretty girl with a name that I don't know.

She doesn't know you,
for her you are just another boy in the crowd,
no one especially loud.

Why can't you see me?
I'm here for you always,
I care for you darling,
See me for who I am.

You leave me to drown,
in this gutter of rain,
this hopeless heart cries in pain,
never noticed, never heard.

I'm smiling, laughing always on the outside,
but inside,
it's raining in my heart,
and you'll never ever notice me.
