It's All Gone Poem by Richard Howardson

It's All Gone

I remember how you would get excited,
just seeing my name flashing on your screen.

It didn't matter if I call or it's a simple text.
But that has changed now and it's all gone.

I remember how you would dedicate songs to me,
to tell me what you feel when you think of me.
I remember how we would talk everyday, the whole night.
You never wanted to hang up, until I'd tell you it's morning 5!

I remember how we would share the dreams,
keeping two dogs for you and maybe cats for me.
Not having it on the kitchen table
'cause you thought it's gross.
Well, I still think it would be so exciting.

But now, it's all gone...

I remember,
How you'd ask me to hug you, and hold you tight,
even when I was not there with you.
Distance didn't matter for us.
We always counted our love to be true.

That was the time when you couldn't wait to see me.
And now, everything's changed and you want me to stay away.

Bloodstream was our song,
the jungle our place to be.
Remember, how it would get into you
and the effect it had on me?

And now,
I find myself standing in the dark woods, all alone.
'Cause you're nowhere to be seen. I'm lost, stateless.

And I remember how you would say 'I love you',
not just once but over and over again.
You never seemed to get tired of it.
But now you have changed, and it's all gone.

All of a sudden, you just changed.
And it's all gone, it's all gone...
