Into The Rain Poem by Sumali Nagarajan

Into The Rain

I walked out into the rain
And promptly ran back to the shade
But this attempt was not in vain
As it gave me the courage to try again...

This time I braved the rain
The wind; the cold; unrestrained
Piercing my body, drenching my mane
But now my mind on a different plane...

Ah! The pleasures of 'no pain; no gain'
To onlookers, it appears insane
After a while, matters no more, the pain
Once pleasure ascends
To a level yet unattained.

While a lot of poems have been written on overcoming fears to achieve success, I liked your presentation. The rhyme scheme, although not very pleasing, does work out well and is decent. Nice write Sumali. P: S: In the line 'But now my mind on a different plain...' The word should be 'plane' and not 'plain' - a minor typo there 😊😊
