Influence
"Stopping by Woods" had a great influence, was loved for many years,
helped direct development.So it comes as a shock to realize
it is not just a very lovely and technically excellent pastoral piece.
It is a summons to honor and all that its defense entails.The lesson -
great poetry is easy to love but when moved to the bridge of our lives
takes a totally different dimension.Beware its lure.
