Indian Dream Poem by KATOCH P C K PREM

Indian Dream

Usually an Indian goes back and back
it is not only he, who goes
but turns back and counts trees where
the great lord rests during the great annihilation
it is only one where the lord
as a baby rests and tells the saint to see the world
here and hereafter
even as the ancient sage sits blank as robot
now before the devotees.

it is entirely a changed sequence now, for none
sits or rests to narrate an ancient tale
but it is modern festival of lies and falsehood
as rightnessand dharma choke.

it is a dream to celebrate the heritage and sing songs
of the self that lives alone as if an island forsaken
and talks of aliens flying overhead
to presage the collapse of ethical man living in cages
as a monument of past
that was
and looks on beyond the age that refuses to die even as
it wants nectar to survive in mendacity and hoax.
