In Your Heaven Lord Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua

In Your Heaven Lord

There is no reason for me here
I rest on Christ’s life and death
Covered by His righteousness
I stand here on His merit alone

He my substitute under the law
Who lived perfectly by every jot
Blameless by the law’s demands
From birth thru death He lived

And even now I live amiss, daily
If You would mark my inequity
How would I stand before You?
How could I behold Your face?

Your perfect righteousness He met
My sins, all, You imputed to Him
Your wrath for my sins He bore
Your perfect justice he satisfied

His righteousness imputed to me
I cannot bear myself on my merit
Let alone before Your refulgence
In His perfection I come before You

Christ lived for me aright and met
The righteous demands of the law
And died; my debt He fully paid
And my sins, all He fully atoned

I stand here before you on His merit
In this garment of His righteousness
A gift of your grace to me - unmerited
My rightful access into your Heaven
