In This Silver Circle, Lg Poem by L.B. Temuco

In This Silver Circle, Lg

Rating: 5.0

Just a heartbeat
I could hear it in your chest
for me, but not for me
bright fever water eyes
absent cradled joy
gone somewhere else to rejoice now
blood spills like bled sap on the earth
as I walk, an open wound
of terrible circumstance
In this silver circle
the Earth offers no sanctuary
no other Inevitable Kingdom
only the inner life
of loving and wanting and
remembering, the feathers of your soft body
sleep ‘til dawn in my eyes
the moist veil of your loins shuddered
a torch held to the night
