In The End Poem by Nichole Pettit

In The End

If you died tonight
I'd die too
Like they say
If the ship goes down into the sea
The captain will follow it into the depths
Even with fear in his heart
He knows he cannot live with out his vessel

So with that I'll say
Together we live
Together we die
No one should die alone
Even if their death is all their own

Their spirit should travel on
But with another.
Just that gives the knowledge
That death is your friend

I'll be that one in the end
So....
I'll try to keep you living because
I know you don't want to die
But, your not wanting to live
But, never worry
Because I know you wont be alone
We'll be together
So fear not.
Death will not come to you alone
But, with a friend to keep company
