In The Blue Distance... Poem by DM W

In The Blue Distance...

In the blue distance,
The fountain of youth hovers
And glows with profound
Winged beauty and innocence.
Its bold, teeming joys
Are vital to the green life.
Don't look back, but seek
Paroxysms of pleasure.
The unknown future
Beckons us as cherished guests.
The forest's wild ways
Are greater than the tame designs
Of modernity.
Blazing, eternal flowers
Grow there like strange gods.
Shining, inner worlds unfold
Moment by moment.
The wise among us who are
Steeped in the power
Of ancient symbolism
Can often perceive
Them clearly and use them as
Dream-like, enchanted
Cures for societal ills.
Forget this grey age
And its many discontents
Entrances to Light
Can still be found even
When age casts its dark
Shadows. Childhood dreams can
Still be recovered
Now and forever, Amen.
