In The Beginning Poem by Matshona Dhliwayo

In The Beginning

"Before order there was chaos.
Before light there was darkness.
Before time there was fate.
Before ignorance there was truth.

Before nature there was matter.
Before sound there was silence.
Before motion there was stillness.
Before matter there was space.

Before loss there was gain.
Before stagnation there was growth.
Before progress there was inaction.
Before speed there was inactivity.

Before illusion there was reality.
Before oblivion there was awareness.
Before anarchy there was harmony.
Before error there was perfection.

Before perception there was truth.
Before speculation there was certainty.
Before confusion there was clarity.
Before everything there was nothing."
