In Ransom By Death Poem by Uwakwe Uchechkwu

In Ransom By Death

Sitting on my couch
In search for a reason to keep the paddle moving on,
On this great sea of life
Knowing that a time will come when my train will roar, miles nearby
And a night will encroach
When my candle will shed it's leaves completely,
I had wished that life would be a movie
But even movies have their ends
I had wished that life would be a movie
And i would skip death's scene
But i would be living a lie
I had wished that life would be a painting
So that I'll cut off death from the potrait
But look, it makes the picture incomplete
For what is life without death?
And death without life?
Tis one truth we neither posses the power
to agree nor diagree
We've been the ones in ransom by death
For a price.
