In Praise Of Things Poem by Dean Meredith

In Praise Of Things

He was a local boy made good
A redneck in disguise
Found out slow how he didn't know
Half the things he thought he did
But his little mind ticked on
Just in spite of itself

Girls are great as girls
When they grow up as women
They want to rule the world
And probably collectively do
Still remaining girls under the seems
Goddesses within their realms

Aren't microwaves great inventions
Astounding what we can come up with
Glasses, goblets, giblets, so much more
So the chicken said, 'why cross the road? '
Tom Joad raised up and hot diggidy!
Such a mighty fine time was had by all

On account of the consumption tax
As democratically chosen by the masses
Well, the majority of masses, how dare you?
Despicably latent, he filled out the form
Against all his preconceived things
Basically granted from above or below

Depending on proximity and point of view
Note to self, you are not above anything
Ack, no need to hack into my mainframe
You piece of steaming yesterday
Yeah the world's got something to say about it
In a rather loud voice
