In Michigan Poem by Bernadette Wiggin

In Michigan

Rating: 1.5

When leaves become vibrant with color
When they float to the ground in the fall
When trees begin to glisten with freezing rain
When they bend from the weight of endless snow
When construction begins with the first signs of spring
And lasts the rest of the year ‘till snow falls again

This is when we know

When people flock to orchards in the fall
When they gather the apples and enjoy donuts with cider
When tourists come for the festival of tulips
When they embrace the colorful bursts of spring
When visitors join for the Cherry Festival in summer
And engage in the all the spectacular cherry delights

This is when we know

When hunters rush in from miles away
When they urn for thrill of killing deer and small game
When people travel north for family vacations
When they unwind near dunes and magnificent lighthouses
When masses move in from around the nation
And come for the breathtaking views of the Lakes

This is when we know… We are in Michigan
