In Almost Perfect Weather Poem by Francis Duggan

In Almost Perfect Weather

At a table on the sidewalk by a cafe in the town by the sea
Four middle aged women sit chatting enjoying cake and tea
In almost perfect weather around twenty three degrees
With a nice warmth in the sunshine and a gentle breeze
That blows up the hill through the park by the bay
So good to be living on such a nice day
The birds chirp and sing on the blossoming trees
And in the warm air the buzzing of flies and of bees
The voices of birds quite familiar to me
The song of the magpie the call of the pee wee
In the distance the rumbles of the incoming tide
In the sea side town Nature too does reside
The weather is pleasant and breezy and bright
And brown butterflies dance in the Summer sunlight.
