In A Daze Poem by Beth Ann

In A Daze

I take another hit
off my cigarette
And I take a look around
And I can't help but think
There must be something in the water

It's like we're apart of the dope show
There's so many weirdos
and druggies here
It's almost like
this place is a sinkhole for them

It's almost like people come here
To just disappear into oblivion
We just grow older
and colder by the day
We all stay in
the shadow of life here

We take the drugs and disappear
Into some cultural time warp
I have to get out and soon
Before I become one of them
Or am I already one of them?
