the single fir-tree solitary grows windswept lonely
upon a mountain height stood out against the light
in winter storms severe sleeps in a blanket of white
looks cool draped in snow ice cloaked in a winter coat;
he dreams not of the dazzling stars above nor the valley below
he dreams not of the northern lights an awesome spectral show
sky in flames of polar lights the fir-tree does not want to know
an aurora polaris borealis compares not to a palm-tree showy;
dream a palm-tree growing in tropical heat is sexy palm leaf hot
to a pining fir-tree solar lights in distant starry heavens hot is not
a steamy palm-tree in frond greenery is salty desert fox curvy;
the palm-tree in far eastern lands weeps hot alone silent solitary
for a single fir-tree solitary growing so cold windswept lonely
in a climate hot not cold a palm-tree dreams of a fir tree longingly;

Nature brings infinite possibility. Wandering in the nature, we look bright and open.I enjoyed reading your sonnet on the theme of nature and more...Beautiful.
This one goes straight to my favourites list. What we do not have, we covet. What me miss, we dream about. What we had and neglected, we desire. That palm tree is what we are! We are here, longing for what is over there.

To think of a palm-tree swapping places with a fir-tree, genius, and a great read.
