Imobility Poem by Sabrina ,

Imobility

Rating: 5.0

because I got hurt
my legs are powerless and won't walk again
rehabilitation is hard but necessary
exercise to regain some strength
the freedom to do most the things I did before
and learn how to deal with limitation

I cannot fight my own body
so I have to work with it
to be strong and able again
and help myself become independent
my inert legs will not be needed
but they will witness my victory

the cure is a far away dream
I need help to deal with the recovery
and I won't give up that easy
the wheelchair will become part of me
it will replace my legs
it will make me whole again

I won't need those paralyzed limbs
I will learn how to be in command
this imprisoned body will be free
the wheels will carry me
my arms will be proud to guide the way
and I will be the one walking my useless legs everywhere
