Illahee Poem by Carmen Strawn

Illahee

We met with the 'Woods' near the Umpqua River
For a weekend at their Ranch 'Illahee'.
A Majestic setting in Part of God's Country.
Enjoying our stay in the Cabin, Tranquility...

Kittens and cats around the cabin and barn
Sitting on your lap, or romping around.
Elk graciously grazing in the Meadow
Along with horses, deer and wild turkey...

Burro's wondering under the trees
Always head home when its time to feed.
Hay in the stalls, and grain for each
Licorice, Carrots & Apples; for their Special Treats...

TRanquil views; Snowflakes falling over night
Turning the trees & ground, crispy and white.
Fallen trees to cut, and wood to split
Winter's here & the ranch, a Magnificent sight...

Horses to ride, while checking over thee fence
Bearbe (dog) Always with you, where ever you went.
Fireplace crackling, A Bottle of Fine Wine
Good Food, Great Friends & Wonderful Times...
