If You're At Peace Poem by gary polonsky

If You're At Peace

Rating: 5.0

You know how life doesn't always end
At points of time or space bred in our mind,
Doesn't matter ‎how nobly you intend
An outcome, ‎life is life, an oft-surprising kind.
And so, my turn - a well-intended throw
Has cleared the fence. "Touch 'em all! ", cries Tom,
The pitcher quickly slinking down below,
Upset at offering up the bomb.

But mine is not to shrink, my aim was true,
And I respect the multiplicity
Of ways and thoughts that emanate from you,
Life's pageant of elegant simplicity.
‎If you're at peace, tomorrow as today,
There is no need to chart a different way.
