If Only I Made A Right. Poem by Wishing For Perfection

If Only I Made A Right.

She was headed on the right path.
Her parents supported her.
Her sisters didnt yell.
Her friends were always there for her.

She thought life was great.
She was happy.
She trusted and loved.
Forgave and forgot.

She helped the sick
and comforted the sad.

Everybody loved her.

So when she took a left
instead of a right.
She thought it would be
a new adventure

But when that left turn
started to get dark and dreary.

She told herself that
This deffinatley wasnt the right path.

She tried turning around.
But no matter how fast she ran
or how careful she was; she kept
getting deeper in.
And the darkness was turning
everything to black.

She was scared, her friends werent
there anymore.
She fought with her sisters
And screamed till her voice cracked.
Her parents no longer smiled.
They frowned and told her they expected
more.

She began drinking and trying different
drugs.
When those werent enough
She starved herself to rid herself of sin.
Still there was no light.
It was a matter of time before she
bought that first razor and made that
first cut. It was the only stable thing she
had in her new messed up world.

Tired of being alone she let herself
get drunk, high, or numbed herself completly.
Then went out and found a willing guy.
The first time she said no. he kept going.
Now she just doesnt care.
She lets them do what they want.
For she knows theres no point.
No point to fight them, no point
to even scream.

No ones there.
And no one ever will be.

Everyday, and everynight
i whisper to myself.
if only i made a right.
