If I Were To Write..... Poem by Elysia Palmer

If I Were To Write.....

Rating: 5.0

If I were to write a simple line just a blip in time
What would you know of me, who would you see?
Would you see someone who fights for what they see right?
Someone who stands bold always re-thinking what they've been told?
Or would you see someone who one day will become victim to society, wont let me be.
Red and blue lights flashing this one moment will be everlasting
If I were to write one stance would you ever give me another chance?
To prove that I would change, begging on your street corner for spare change
Down and out beggin for for someone to shout
Of sanity and acceptance for wanting to make life this wild dance
If I wrote a verse would you lift your curse?
Of this world that you seem to hold in your hand worried it might blow away like sand
Pressuring everyone it until it all just crumbles now they speak behind your back to you distant mumbles
The power of word would grow until you must agonizingly suffer to try to make it unheard
If I were to write a mere poem could it drive the idea home
That alone we can take total control we must unite to change together
