If I Told You The Truth Poem by Herofil Olarte

If I Told You The Truth

If I told you the truth
Would you do the same?
A simple gesture of our names
Brings heavenly light deep within

If I told you the truth
Would you forgive my past?
A joyful feeling not to live in the dark
Brings harmony as we start

If I told you the truth
Would you accept a stranger in your heart?
A thoughtful request from a friend mile apart
Brings hope I will never depart

If I told you the truth
Wouldn’t it be too bold?
But if you ask me, I could still reached out and hold
I still like you if truth be told...
