If I Had A Daughter Poem by Kaila George

If I Had A Daughter

I would lavish her with love
Encourage her to be
The best that she can be
I would buy her pretty dresses
Depending on her style
And leave my door open
So we can sit and chat awhile
I would listen to all her problems
And help her make up her mind
To make right choices in her life
For herself and not mine
Smiles if I had a daughter
I would give her the world
Not rosy sweet or lavender
But just how it is
I would fight for her to be
Just who she wants to be
And teach her just how to live her dreams
They way she wants to be…if only
Smiles …one could only wish
