I, Yes, I Poem by Zooey Lichty

I, Yes, I

My wrist look small, thin, and weak
I fear I have a disease, but I have no sorrow for it
I feel weak, I am shaky, I AM angered
I feel joy
I do not want it
I have…?
I had love
I do not need it
I do not want it
I had excitement
It disappointed
I do not long for it
I, yes, I had and do not want these things
I, yes, I yearn for the things I do not have
I, yes, I have loved
And I, yes, I have lost that love
