If I could hold one moment
In my mind forever
Do you know what moment
I would choose?
It wouldn’t be our first kiss.
It wouldn’t be our first date.
I wouldn’t choose the moment I realized I loved you.
I wouldn’t choose the times I held your hand
Or when I looked in your eyes.
I wouldn’t want to remember the pain of when we said goodbye.
I wouldn’t choose the time we danced in the rain.
I wouldn’t want to hold onto the time we first made love.
No I would want to remember
Watching you sleep.
And the way you smiled in your dreams.
When I put my hand on you.
The way you seemed to be so happy
When I was there beside you.
If I could hold onto anything.
I would hold onto
That moment.
