I Wonder Poem by Akhtar Jawad

I Wonder

Rating: 5.0

I wonder when I see monkeys engaged in a dog-fight,
And an wolf approaching to the monkeys,
With an intention of killing the both fighters,
And what else is the wolf other than poverty,
I see many animals enjoying this fight.

The sun, the moon and the stars all will die,
Unconcerned! The radioactive clouds will reach to them,
Their will be no food to eat, and no water to drink,
They will not eat death, drink it in drops after drops,
And on that day, they will say, God wasn't a lie.

Nuclear war would be the most disastrous and fearsome war ever, that will bring an end to the universe. A powerful forecast of the future. I shudder to think of the plight of the future generation. So aptly expressed through the picture of two fighting monkeys. Brilliant poem Akhtar Sahab! ......10

We are helpless in the hands of nature. Shiva has to open his third eye. Population has now touched the limits.

A perceptive, thought provoking and powerful write. Liked the closure line. A great poem.

A poignant write but there is a possibility we will suffer this predicament due to nuclear war. The world will be in a state of nothingness. I hope and pray the children will be spared
