I Was Wrong! Poem by Rimni chakravarty

I Was Wrong!

It is since more than a decade
I had composed a poem
I was young and its memories now fade
The past is to be buried like the dead
But memories at times haunt
May be taunt
Like now it is happening to me
I had aimed to what I can and could be
Not to surrender to destiny
But life itself is puny
I had a firm belief our 21st century Indian women like a rock stand steady
I then believed in women empowerment and felt proud to be a modern Indian lady
Now I have seen more of the worldly life
I realize how kid dish was to fight against the never ending strife
My hairs now grow grey
Once it shone like silk and in sun glazed
No more the fragrance of the flowers charm me in the month of May
No more I giggle and feel all time gay
No more Dads scold me for laughing giggling all the moment
All these memories do torment
My strength vanish into the thin air
As does my beautiful black hair
Alienation has engulfed me like the black clouds on the blue sky
I wish my soul fly
Unto my original source from where I came
But before the end of this life game
I confess that was wrong
Forgive me ladies for this mouthful song
Like a rock we do not stand steady
As we are always ready
To give into our emotions
Which seldom has value in the world of rationals?
